This round of ChaosLife strips is a little different from the usual format, because as you can see, K spent some time in the hospital earlier this month.

Without getting into too long of a summary, it all started when K started experiencing complications (malnourishment/dehydration) from some food poisoning we caught. Once in the ER, she started going into shock and, a hurried round of tests and treatments later, they discovered her liver hasn’t been functioning at 100% and that she had a paraesophageal hernia on top of everything. We wound up staying for a few nights while she was given enough glucose, vitamins, and IV fluids to fill a small pool, while they simultaneously did more blood tests on her than I think I’ve had in my entire life.

We sporadically stayed in touch via social media, and the amount of love and well-wishes sent our way was overwhelmingly sweet and much needed. Thank you to everyone who reached out, we love you all so much. <3 This was a sudden, scary event that could have gone a lot worse and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel that we’re back at home together, able to share a slightly more serious slice-of-our-lives with a happy ending, after all.

We’ll be back with sillier comics and the next chapter of FindChaos right away, but let me tell you: this month was a doozy.

If you like what we do around here and can afford even just $1 per month, consider supporting our Patreon! It pays our bills (which hopefully don’t include hospital bills soon! Hahaha, oh no…) and you can get access to fun stuff like behind-the-scenes comic work, exclusive podcasts, and a blog! We release about 8 comics per month, so you’re free to decide if you’d like to support all of them or just one or two comics at a time. We’re incredibly grateful either way!
