Harry Potter and the “I Never Read That Far”
Bonus Comic!
As an interlude while we finish the next ChaosLife comic, we bring you an oldie that never made it onto the site somehow. Considering this comic was created before we got to see the movie, I’m happy to say it turned out rather accurate upon eventual viewing. Had we seen the movie or read the book in advance, the only change I would’ve made would be to draw ten extra panels at the beginning of camping. And bitching. Camping and bitching, the Harry Potter story.
Now you have an explanation for the existence of these stickers. Deus Ex Machina!
I’m pretty sure I saw panels three and four in about a thousand Tumblr posts.
It’s possible: the comic was released on Tumblr in its entirety in July of 2011. Those things have a way of spreading!
Can we have a moment of silent shaming for Prof. McGonagall? That picture will forever give me nightmares.
Yeah that is pretty much it.
That Malfoy panel sums up the entire scene quite nicely. Awkward faces all around. No face was spared from the ensuing confusion.
I started reading Harry Potter, saw one of the movies (first one, maybe), decided it was not age-appropriate for me.
NO, NOT LIKEABLESIDECHARACTERITIS! THAT’S THE WORST KIND OF DISEASE!
I love this comic. <3 I had already seen it at deviantART. And I agree – I think Rowling must have taken a particularly nasty hit on the head before writing that last book. Not that it was a total disaster, mind you, but it didn't make much sense overall.
Gotta love the "suddenly, babies" panel xD It summarises very well my own "wtf! I thought that soap opera-ish shit only happened in bad fanfiction?" reaction to the so-called 'epilogue'.
I was all 'aww' when Snape died, too. He was one of my favorite characters. His snarky, humiliating comments towards the protagonist of the series were particularly enjoyable. 😀 And poor Fred… victim of a misguided, random attempt at 'realism'…
(the McGonagall-Hagrid panel hasn't given me nightmares yet. I'm crossing my fingers)
By the way, I'm not sure I've ever commented before, but I've been a follower of this site for a while (a year or so). I enjoy your sense of humor 🙂 Thanks for sharing it with us!
My best wishes to you both and to your lovely pets.
Panel four…oh god why.
I’ll have nightmares tonight.
LOLOL that is pretty much it. About the ending though, I thought it was brilliant. The ENTIRE point of the books is that it never should of happened. Voldemort is just a child that was never able to forgive and forget and him being aborted looking was a sign of vulnerability. It’s also the reason the fight was so anti-climactic. The point being Voldemort made some stupid prophecy come true, when the world could of been a MUCH better place, for everyone in the end. It’s why Harry and the others get a happy ending, because after all that shit it was never actually their destiny to go through so much dumb shit in life. It’s supposed to make you feel sorry for Voldemort too, a victim of terrible childhood and a fiery hatred for his father a muggle for harming his mother, a witch. He’s a sad pathetic case of circumstance (Not that he’s remotely excused for his actions, it’s only an explanation for how he became the way he was, but it’s still horrible and despicable what he’s done.
I get that Harry Potter is not for everyone, but I have NEVER seen a book or movie that admits the bad guy is not one dimensional and that there never SHOULD of been a bad guy and all of us expecting some climactic ending and thinking there even is a hero was slapped in our faces and that to me was brilliant.
Not a fanatic, I was just always impressed by the ending and felt it deserved an explanation.
