Yet another one of those stories that didn’t need embellishment to have a punchline.
In case you haven’t heard (but have surely deduced by now), we have a new pet! A leucistic Texas rat snake named Haku. He’s already had more than a few glamor shots and does indeed appreciate K’s boobs nearly as much as I do.
D’awww…

D’awwwww. That snake’s adorable!
Lovely! =w=
you draw yourelf with only four fingers!! I just realized that! Its easier to draw, right?
It’s actually a little more difficult for me, honestly, since my usual style is based in traditional anatomy. It works for the cartoon-y simplified comics better, though!
I hadn’t noticed that until now oh my goodness it’s terrifying
I honestly find it kind of weird! I’m pretty sure the 4-fingered hands were an animation shortcut, so I always get confused when people use it in static images. Especially when, as you say, you find it more challenging. Do what you like though, not like it lowers the quality of the art.
Actually it’s a relic of the “sausage finger” style of most comics (mickey mouse started this). With that style 5 fingers don’t work.
Oh my gosh, wow, I don’t know how to express myself after seeing this. This is easily my favorite of your comics.
Adorable!!
AwwwWWWWwwwwww…. what a little cutie! I have a common black and white rat snake (possibly a Great Plains Rat Snake – the kind with the checkerboard on the tummy). These snakes are related to the corn snakes, as i recall, and are non-poisonous, mostly non-aggressive, and highly beneficial. They also tame very easily and in my own opinion, have great personalities for a reptile. Enjoy! They are also one of the easiest and most non-demanding pets you can own. With an appropriate cage, all you need to do is keep their water topped off, and feed them an appropriately-sized rodent once or twice a month. Even a goldfish is more work. And unlike a goldfish, you can cuddle! They can live up to 20 years and in the wild, help a lot to keep down populations of mice, rats, and when they get bigger, even chipmunks, rabbits, other small rodents. One of their nicknames is “Farmer’s Friend.” Although, they also sometimes eat eggs, but mostly it is pests like mice and rats in your graineries and barns and fields. I love the little checkerboard on their tummies, so here’s a pic: http://www.hiltonpond.org/images/RatsnakeBlackJuv04.jpg
Aw, what a cute pattern!
Once or twice a month seems way too infrequent unless it’s an adult that you’re feeding rats to. Once a week or once every 10 days is more appropriate for a colubrid snake.
Just wanted to put that out there -has 3 snakes and has been taking care of snakes for 15+ years-
Oh, and by the way… BOTH expressions in the final frame are PRICELESS. ๐
Lol, I wonder if K found this as funny as you and Haku xD
Haku!? Is that a Miyazaki reference? I love you.
It is indeed! The name seemed to fit, he’s a slippery one!
If you’re into polysemy, you could write his name as “็ฝ” which means “white”. BTW: that’s not how his name in the movie is written in Japanese, just an interesting coincidence that the character for “white” can be read as “haku”.
So warm, a nice place to curl up. My cats seem to prefer sleeping on my head and face only when I have a high fever. Smothering little pukes, they are lucky they are cute.
This lil’ guy is indeed very cute. But he’s still a baby, isn’t he? I wonder how big he will become?
Have a great time with Haku!
Cute widdle snakey, Haku!
OMG you named it Haku XD You have a baby dragon~~ Did you do it on purpose? Please say you named him after Haku of Spirited away because he looks like a baby dragon Haku.
now all you need to do is get a real snake ๐

i have a little redtail boa aswell but she’s no bigger then your little guy right now
So glad you guys got a snake! But trust me once you get one you want more. We started with one Ball Python and now are up to 7, and Haku is gorgeous btw!
Favorite comic to day easily ๐ But why does it goes into your wifeยดs boobs? Is it for the body heat? anyway, that thing is almost transparent and soo fragile-looking. Are you sure its going to be okey around the cats?
Aw, thank you! And indeed, he seems to love the body heat combined with a nice dark shirt to hide in. Right now while he’s still a baby, the cats aren’t allowed near him (and he’s fairly fearful of them, anyway). In no time, he’ll be up to at least five-to-six feet in length, in which case some supervised closeness would likely be safe.
What about the cats??!!
You have joined the ranks of the snake owners!! I own a Red Tail Boa, and her fetish is faces. Like, she’ll crawl over your head and just slap her face on yours and just sit there. She’s over 6 feet now and 12 pounds so it’s pretty inconvenient, but we love her goofiness. Haku looks so beautiful though!! I really really wanted a leucisitic ratsnake but at the moment we don’t have room. ๐ Makes me jealous!
Just got introduced to your comics yesterday, ended up reading em all in one sitting! Great job! Your strips are hilarious and you ladies are adorable, keep up the good work!
too much hentai for this! but still, congratz :3
Awww that’s adorable! It figures, since boobs are warm and soft. ๐
Is the name a reference to “Spirited Away”?
D’awww indeed! He’s beautiful! My boy’s a mexican black kingsnake, and he does indeed like going in the shirt sleeve sometimes. ๐ Welcome to reptile ownership. And yes, they do indeed have their own ways of expressing emotion. Also, regardless of a lack of rattle as rattlesnakes have, many breeds will still rattle their tail as a way of saying “You’re scaring me! Back off!”
^^ nee so cute!
We have three tangerine honduran milk snakes ourselves; apparently rated as the silliest, blindest, and supposedly nippiest snakepets (maybe, Shinja frightened herself so bad during feeding she stuck herself in my hiking boot for a half hour) xD they’re adorqble though, with pretty patterns and cute beady eyes that go ‘Oh, it’s you tree-mammal! Imma warm up in your shirt now…’
That is a beautiful snake!
how do you know that the snake is leucistic and not an albino??
Well, for one, we bought him from a reputable breeder. For another, albino Texas rat snakes look much different — they usually have a faint off-white patterning and usually pink or red eyes, whereas Haku is completely absent of any skin color (not just melanin, like albinos) and his eyes are a deep steely blue.
oooh i see! i thought his eyes were red, but i guess that’s his retina in the sunlight, because of how small he is. cute cute!
Oh how wonderful! I’m engrossed in the reptile community and I am so glad the good that will come of it from your cute pictures and humorous comic strip about Haku! ๐ Love your comics too! <3
Thank you! I might have just spent the last ten minutes cooing over your gecko pictures, I never knew they came in such extraordinary patterns and colors! <3 You're lucky to have such wonderfully personable little pets!
I must have read this comic strip about 10 times, looking for updates, and only NOW did I notice that you only draw four fingers. ._.
Is he named after Haku from Spirited away?
*SQUEEEE!!!* YOU NAMED HIM HAKU!!!
What a beautiful baby!!
What a beautiful baby!!
Sorry for the double post. My computer decided to hiccup. For a few years, we shared our home with a gorgeous five-lined skink. Reptiles are intelligent, quirky, personable, and loving. Best wishes to you all and your new family member.
Hehe, that is very familiar, but in my case it was my hubby always being jelous of my pet leopard gecko that just loved sleeping in my bra, under my boobs where it was nice and warm.
*blushes* aww thanks! haha. I really enjoy them and do feel very lucky to have them all! ๐
Just make sure the guy does not get too cold. I had a bad power outage one year and lost my beloved ball python due to the cold.
We’re having a blizzard come in right now and already have plans to look after him in case of a power outage! Luckily, all of our apartment’s heat is gas fire and doesn’t rely on electricity, so we have ways of keeping him (and ourselves) warm if need be. So sorry to hear about your python! <3 Much sympathies from the both of us.
Awww so teeny tiny and cuuuuuute XD
