Nature Is Magical 4
Let’s face it: when it comes to being scary, Nature trumps anything.

you appear to have gone double with your comic. just a heads up.
Thanks for the heads up and it’s already been corrected! Just a duplicate upload being a pill.
This. Is. TERRIFYING.
You got one little thing wrong (that I can notice). The Cochineal beetle is a natural food additive, NOT artificial (cuz beetles come from nature and are not synthetically produced). If something’s only got beetles in it for colour, they can legally advertise as “no artificial colouring”. This is why I don’t shit myself when I see “artificial additives”, as natural ones have the potential to be just as disgusting or dangerous.
In that particular instance, they are labelled as “artificial coloring.” It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but when did the FDA ever make sense?
What’s awesome is that some of the fish that get their tongues “replaced” … don’t have tongues before the parasite arrives!
Don’t have tongues anymore, to be precise. C.E. sink their claws into the fishie’s very much existing tongue, suck the blood out of it until it atrophies and then get comfy on the stump, taking over the functions of the original tongue.

Well now I’m definitely never eating mushrooms (especially canned)
New to the Chaos Life… just spent the last few hours reading all the comics. They are wonderful, and funny! Some of them even helped me with my real life problems. Thanks so much for making these!
Fun Fact: There is a horror movie that is all about those fish tongue things. “The Bay” It’s cheesy to the 10th dimension.
There is another (rather bigger) thing: The mammal that kills the most humans per year would be the human.
Unless you reject the fact that humans are simply nature’s latest evolutionary step for biped mammals…
Negative, humans are meat popsicles.
Hey! I just spent half the night going through everything here and it’s AMAZING! It’s relatable and so FUNNY!
Thankyou so much! I have fallen in love with your work!
Hellooooo nightmares.
While genus is always capitalized, species should not be. Also body proportions are a lot off on the assassin bug. It should not look like an ant
To be fair, realism isn’t exactly the aim of this particular comic’s style.
Fair enough. I just am a bio geek.
Today on “Stuff I didn’t know AND NEVER WANTED TO EITHER OMG”…
What does knowing all of this already say about me? I also had a picture of the tongue parasite as my desktop image for ages, it’s just so darn cute.
No mention of castoreum? The additive to all sorts of things that comes from beaver butts?
You’ve ruined mushrooms for me. Forever.
Just discovered your comic, read through the entire thing in reverse, and fell in love! You are both amazing and talented! Keep fighting the good fight!
“Creepy edition”? Fuck, man, all these nature-related comics are creepy. It’s almost like it takes away my apetite, even though i sometimes know most the facts. Kills my mentality just to be reminded of these lil fuckers and their abilities
Oh dear. Food shopping as a vegetarian is pretty easy given all the meat substitutes and stuff out there, but then I find out about something like this. Ick. And it’s virtually impossible to tell where it is, unless I swear off of anything not advertising itself as specifically vegetarian.
Do fish have tongues? I thought that they just have a “basihyal” that looks like a tongue, but doesn’t actually have taste buds and isn’t a muscle. 😛
