I agree with Steven. The shops here in Germany don’t sell Halloween stuff yet, but a variety christmas cookies is available.
So we sat at the swimming lake eating christmas cookies last weekend. Thas was kind of fun.
Infrequently! Our most common costumes are zombies or corpses of some kind — one Halloween, we dressed up as frozen people, for example. Last year, we created plague doctor masks, which we STILL haven’t shared, but plan to, soon. I guess our costumes tend to have pretty morbid themes!
Generally, we made our exposed skin blue-tinged with purple tones where you normally blush. Then we glued a little bit of coarse sugar and fake snow to areas of our skin, eyebrows, etc. to look like frost. A little cornstarch in our hair and a healthy dousing of fake snow (shredded plastic flakes), and it looked pretty convincing, imho. As for actual costumes, we wore tattered winter pajamas with scarves and ratty gloves/mittens to give it a whole “death by exposure” vibe. Actually a very easy and cheap costume!
I usually go dressed up for Halloween to University, and I’ve always wanted to turn up for class in my pajamas. This costume solves both problems, thank you all! ^^
If my neighbor can leave up his xmas lights year-round, I don’t see why I can’t leave my string-o-bats and skellytons up year-round, too, amahraht? LOL
Eh, Halloween is very much a kiddy thing here in Britain… The shops never have more than a few shelves of decorations, one in ten houses have a pumpkin. Of course, that makes it all the more fun to write ‘Too late’ on the windows in ketchup. ^^
I’m glad I’m not the only one that does this. Though this year we might miss setting stuff up. Kids are very sick and so am I. I’m thinking about putting up a plague sign on the front door, that might be festive enough.
As an employee of a company that sells strictly for the Halloween season (Spirit Halloween), it’s good to see you getting a start on the big day! It will be here before you know it!
If Australia’s going to celebrate Halloween, and I see no way of stopping it from happening, then let’s at least do it properly and celebrate it in the mid to late autumn. I mean lighting jack o lanterns when its light and bright outside? Where’s the spooky in that? All these wonderful pagan seasonal celebrations demand to be celebrated in context – in season. Christmas in July, or dare I christen it (pun intended) Jultide, has got the ball rolling so let’s all celebrate the changing seasons with Halloween in autumn, Jultide in winter and Easter in spring.
It helps when you don’t put most of it away 😉
^ That!
awww x3 <3
silly ladies. Its September, you should be decorating for Christmas not Halloween. lol
Got that “Addams Family Lite” thing (heh-heh!) going I see…
And keep the decoration until New Year to make a stand against Christmas. 😀

Hey, if stores do it this early, why can’t we?
Don’t care what the songs say – Halloween is the most wonderful time of the year. And by Halloween, I mean late August through Thanksgiving. 😀
Same here! So do you dress up A and K? And if yes, as what? 🙂

Hey, if Wal-Mart wants to start selling it now, why not put it up?
Right? Besides, decorating for Halloween is a lot more fun than most other holidays.
This is me. This is me forever.
We never take ours down… and add more each year…

Halloween, the one day a year Alucard gets to show off…
…without people yelling at him.
