Service Savvy
Just a quick rundown to answer some frequently asked questions about Legba and service dogs/animals in general, though we’ll be happy to elaborate in future pages if any other perennial questions pop up. For example: it’s important to remember the laws are very different in regards to service animals vs. support animals, and either way, those animals are there doing a vital job! Please do not disturb.
Hey there! Thanks to your support, we adopted a service dog for K and named him Legba! We’re still frantically raising money to help pay for his professional training and certification,so it would mean a lot to us if you checked out our fundraiser or just toss a couple dollars our way via PayPal.me. I want to thank everyone who’s been so generous, even simply by helping to spread the word. Please take a glance at the fundraising link for more info!
Psst! His own wishlist is here!
We survive completely on your support! If you have a little spare change, you can keep us and our comics going lots of ways:
- Patreon – Support us per strip (you can cap at any amount per-month, even as little as $1) and gain access to bonus material, private blogs, and sneak peeks!
- Ko-Fi – Buy us a cuppa! Or anything else we could use in increments of $3, which is probably cat toys.
- PayPal.me – Donate any one-time amount! No muss, no fuss.
- Etsy – Check in on our store to find original comic linework, paintings, digital books, and whatever strange crafts struck our fancy!
Need to find us on social media? Look up “FindChaos” pretty much wherever.
Service Dog to the rescue!
Is that a heart between his eyes (it’s so cute) 🙂
I’d add that if a dog in a service vest is trying to get your attention without their handler, they’re probably trying to tell you something’s wrong with that person. Saw a post somewhere about a lady in supermarket who kept trying to shoo away a service dog that was trained to get help if their handler lost consciousness or something like that. Luckily, someone else realized what the dog was doing.
😀 Omg, Legba really has a heart on his face! Hehe, he’s such a cute pooch.
Like with the dogs at Grand Central, I smile at them because I saw a dog and that makes me happy but that’s the extent of it. They’re doing a job, they don’t want to be distracted.
Is he a husky? He’s super cute! I have an Alaskan Malamute at home and she is just as sensitive to human feeling too. Anytime u trip hiking she’d stand over u and turn into mama bear. No strangers allowed.
I prefer to think of them less as medical “equipment,” and more as on duty medical personnel or something.
