And then you have pins and needles in everything below the T6 vertebra and you stumble around like an idiot for ten minutes before full feeling returns.
Not to be a bother but… If you did a little more exercise… I mean, there are 80 year old people that can do a perfect arch, so the age is just an excuse to do not do anything!
Haha, no worries on the exercise front: we both do Max Capacity training on a regular basis and walk dozens of miles a week (we love hiking and don’t own a car). It doesn’t mean I didn’t still suffer after 5 hours of paper macheing on a hardwood floor. 😉
I exercise frequently and am quite physically fit… Unfortunately, I also have bad knees and exercise doesn’t stop them from getting stiff after sitting for any extended period of time. .__.
The one thing you can’t explain, is how quickly you still manage to do a perfect toe-touch hitting the snooze button if your alarm clock is at the foot of your bed.
Hey, you’re on the front page of Reddit right now, if you didn’t know. I’m always happy when I see your comics posted somewhere else, you deserve more recognition.
Also, I’m barely 20 and getting up is already a bitch. I don’t even want to think about what will happen later.
Without even realizing it I’ve been seeing comics of yours around for so long and now with this one I’ve finally actually been lead back here to the source. I can’t even explain the love I have for your everything I’ve seen thus far, even though I had no idea they were of the same artist.
How do you find Max Capacity in comparison to other workout routines? Just curious as I’ve been off exercise for months and looking to try something new.
K Here: It’s really wonderful! Our friend introduced us to it, and his results are amazing (ours have been too, but we haven’t been on it for quite as long). I like that it doesn’t need any equipment (not a fan of social gym workouts or spending money on anything other than free-weights) and you can pretty much do all of it when you have 20 minutes of time. It’s supposed to be 3 days a week, every other day, but I sometimes repeat routines if I feel ambitious or bored. The fact that the routines aren’t repetitive from one day to the next is nice, too, since you don’t get into a boring slog. It’s definitely a lot of core workouts, which has greatly improved posture, overall strength and ease-of-crazy-sex-moves (if you’re inclined to use your core during sex — which I am, being the bearer of the Great Schlong most nights). I’ve noticed a lot of overall tone and some nice muscle bulk, but nothing too comically ripped – still, I’d definitely recommend upping protein intake to keep up with the muscle building and not feel puny. If you do the routines as they’re outlined, you’ll see results really fast. There’s also a pretty sweet phone app for it, so I find it easier as a grab-and-go routine rather than an “ordeal” (my problems are ridiculous) to flip pages or pop in videos.
Hey thanks for answering my question, that’s very sweet of you. Max Cap sounds like a lot of fun, definitely going to give this a try at the weekend. Have a lovely day K!
Found a comic of yours on imgur and I had to come here. I have read all of the comics from beginning to now. I love this and I am going to Bookmark this website. Can’t wait for more! 🙂
You as a child is the best thing.
That hair.
I loved being that young, because I was able to pull off that kind of horrible mop hair.
Of course, every adult I met basicly told me what a cute girl I was, kinda wounds the ego… But damn it, I loved the hair none the less.
I have just spent an entire work day reading all of your comics, and I love you. Thank you for allowing me to waste time giggling over your art and frowning and just looking like an idiot to anyone who doesn’t know what I am doing.
Same goes for jumping happily from stairs, when you’re in a good mood and decide on the spot to skip the last few steps.
As a kid: “Weeee!”
Not a kid anymore: “Wee-URG-damn I’m heavy.”
Hi! Came for the famous agender comic, realized there was more, and now I’ve just finished the whole shebang. Kinda dumbfounded that such an amazing comic escaped my notice for so long.
Incidentally, I now have a giant honking crush on you and your wife, but … *shrug** I suspect a lot of readers do.
I just spend my entire day reading your comic. I didn’t leave my bed. i skipped lunch, and now have a serious headache because im so dehydrated because getting water would take time away from this comic. your webcomic is so good it caused serious health problems. thank you for being so awesome, keep up the good work.
I know, right. I too just found out about it recently and I spent hours and hours reading it and the comments till now I’ve caught up with the latest comic I don’t know what to do… It’s just that good. I just want to say thanks.
This reminds me of when my legs fall asleep when I sit for too long…oh, the pain of pins and needles! I hate that feeling! I love this comic btw because it is SO TRUE! 😀

pfft hours of sitting, sure. try 10 minutes 🙂

Ugh, my butt hurts just thinking about sitting on hardwood that long.
Heh. Butt, hardwood. Sorry, it’s that time of night where I become really immature. I’ll show myself out…

FUCK YOU, KNEES!!

I can say even with rough health, taking jiu jitsu has made that a lot easier for me. XD But still not jumping right up like a kid.
I feel your pain
All of my love to you.
I’m not even twenty and I have trouble getting up after sitting for a while, but then I’m pretty much the laziest person I know.

doesn’t matter your age or your exercise rate, I’m barely and have knee and back troubles, sometimes you just can’t evade bad genetics
barely 20**

You love that Green shirt ,dont you?
Damn your sex life must be boring
This is far, far, too true.
I’m greatly enjoying my fifteen minute “stand up without falling” sessions.
if things were asleep, lie flat and think of happy things.
if it just hurts…. well i don’t know how to help.
of course…. it was HOURS… soo… yeah, nothing really helps. its mostly in your back, ankles and knees, yes?
I never thought I would ever be old enough to say this, but just wait until You’re my age! Yikes!

6th panel FTW!
If only there were another alternative to getting older…
Obviously, there is an alternative, but there is an absence of commentary from those who chose that option.
True, vampires are not known for their technological skills.
Lol!
Has your hair always been gray? Just curious.
you forgot the creaking and popping noises. ^^;

You think its fun now? Wait till you are about 50 and its excruciating…….
It seems you’re living up to the name STIFFler…

I think I have a problem… I’m only 16 and am like that all day everyday! 😛 maybe its because I’m a lazy bum.
This reminds me of when my legs fall asleep when I sit for too long…oh, the pain of pins and needles! I hate that feeling! I love this comic btw because it is SO TRUE! 😀
I hurt my back just leaving this comment!
Or managing stairs in the morning.
KNEES.
WHY MUST YOU BE SLINKIES.
Stairs are impossible with slinky-knees.
Yup. Yup. Yup. After standing all day at work, to come home and sit for even 10 minutes my legs have seized up so bad I hobble all over the house.
Im 16 and getting off the floor is a bitch,it doesnt help when my ankles sound likes pop rocks
